Members of the children's burn service at the Royal Bristol Hospital for Children has produced two patient-experience videos of parents and a patient who describe the impact of burn injuries and treatment on their physical and psychological health. Helping you to Heal - Your Burns Pathway

The Children's Burn Team at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children has produced this child friendly animation to help parents/carers and children.  Bobby talks you through what to expect if you need to be treated for a burn injury in hospital. If you are a family under the care of the Bristol Children's Burn Care Team, please ask them for more information on how they can support you from the initial injury to recovery and beyond. Everyone child has their own individual burns pathway which can be adjusted to the patients needs.  The Network was very pleased to have funded the production of this animation and are grateful to Medical Illustration team at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children for creating the video. - Burn Injuries

If you or a family member has a burn injury, you may find this new module on of help.  It is often very difficult to talk to someone else who has experienced a burn injury, or to another parent whose child has experienced a burn injury.  This website provides over 180 video clips of people talking about the circumstances that led to their injury, the treatment and services they received and how they are living, and adjusting to life, with a burn.   There are also links to other resources and information.

Supporting Children with Burns

A website, designed with parents and carers, specifically to support families of children who have had a burn injury.

This website contains information and further links  to help support parents or carers of children and young people who have experienced a burn injury of any kind or size. When a burn injury happens to someone you care about it can be as distressing for you as it is for them. Other adults, such as grandparents, might also find this resource helpful.

Adult Burn Support UK - Live Chat

Funded by Dan's Fund for BurnsAdult Burns Support UK provides a platform for those affected by burn injury to share their story and give and receive mutual support in real-time in a safe and compassionate private group environment.
